
Wright–Giemsa Staining Solution
Introduction
Wright–Giemsa Staining Solution is an improved formulation based on the principles of Romanowsky staining. The staining process involves the penetration and retention of dyes within the specimen, resulting from both physical adsorption and chemical affinity.
Different types of cells and their components exhibit varying affinities for the acidic dye eosin and the basic dye methylene blue contained in the Wright–Giemsa Staining Solution because of their different chemical properties. After staining with Wright–Giemsa Staining Solution, different cell types display distinctive staining characteristics, enabling the identification of their morphological features.
