Chlamydia canis Detection Kit
Introduction
Chlamydia is a group of obligate intracellular prokaryotic microorganisms that cannot replicate independently outside host cells. It can infect humans and a wide range of animals, including mammals and birds. Chlamydial infections commonly affect the respiratory tract, eyes, and reproductive tract and may cause localized or systemic disease.
The clinical manifestations of chlamydial infection in dogs may vary depending on the Chlamydia species involved, the site of infection, and the animal’s immune status. Common signs include conjunctivitis, keratitis, increased ocular and nasal discharge, coughing, pneumonia, and other ocular or respiratory symptoms. Some infected dogs may also develop reproductive disorders such as abortion and infertility, while a small number of cases may present with polyarthritis, enteritis, or other systemic manifestations. Because early clinical signs may be nonspecific, an accurate diagnosis is often difficult to achieve based on clinical symptoms alone. Therefore, laboratory testing plays an important role in the diagnosis and control of canine chlamydial infection.
The SunshinyMed Chlamydia canis Detection Kit uses polymerase chain reaction technology to detect Chlamydia nucleic acids in canine clinical specimens by amplifying specific DNA fragments of the pathogen. The kit features high sensitivity, strong specificity, and rapid detection and can assist in identifying chlamydial infection during the early stage of infection or when the pathogen load is low. It is suitable for the laboratory-assisted diagnosis, pathogen screening, and epidemiological surveillance of canine chlamydial infection, providing reliable support for clinical diagnosis and treatment, reproductive health management, and animal disease prevention and control.
